About

Just what the world needs, another blog about the intersection of media and technology. My plan is to write about the ways media companies can, should and do use technology to broaden their audience, as well as some media criticism about technology-related stories.

About your ink-stained wretch: I’m a technophile, a writer, a recovering reporter and former social media guide and digital delivery analyst at The Gazette in Cedar Rapids. Now I’m the Director of Media Relations at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. My opinions are 100% my own (or stolen from someone else, with attribution). I in no way represent Cornell College.

I was a reporter and then the city editor at the Carroll County Times in Westminster, Md, I helped to start and then ran two weekly, direct-mail community newspapers and my first job was at a weekly just outside Pittsburgh, Pa.

I write this in my spare time, in between watching too much TV, smoking too many cigarettes and not spending enough time with my beautiful wife.

If you care enough, you can follow my Twitter feed here or you can e-mail me.
